History
After studying film at The California Institute of the Arts, where I received my MFA in the early 90s, I got my first commercial break as the lowly video tap assistant on the HBO production Blindside. Fortunately, I quickly went on to a more exciting and diverse career in film & video production and post. After owning and operating a video post-production company in Hollywood, where we edited numerous corporate, narrative and music videos, I started what has since become a long-term arrangement with New Wave Entertainment in Burbank. During my time at New Wave, I have produced and/or supervised the post-production of the Harry Potter DVD special features for Warner Home Entertainment. I also supervised the post-production of the interactive set tours for Universal Studio's Van Helsing DVD. In addition to my extensive experience in standard and high-definition post-production, I recently shot the 35mm motion picture Viva. Other clients I have worked with, besides New Wave Entertainment and Warner Home Entertainment, include: Oracle, Mattel, and Philips Media.
When I am not working commercially, I continue to pursue my artistic interests by making experimental videos and photographs. In 2005 I completed Through Corridors and Factories, a 20-minute video about post-colonialism in Hawaii, which screened at the Cork International Film Festival in 2006. In November 2007, I completed work on Got Land, a video about time and space in the American West. This work, as well as my photographs, will be viewable shortly on my forthcoming site at ctlewis.com. After completing Got Land, I immediately went to work on a narrative HD short (currently called I am Henry) which you can read more about in the News section.
